Two People Killed in Christmas Eve Shooting on Captain Bill Road

RIDGELAND, S.C. — The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred on Christmas Eve and left two people dead.

Deputies were called to the 900 block of Captain Bill Road, where they found one individual suffering from gunshot wounds. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said a suspect involved in the incident was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment but later died from his injuries. A second suspect was taken into custody and has since been charged with murder.

The suspect has been identified as William Andricka DuPont, 35.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Officials have not released additional details about what led to the shooting.
