Jasper County Board of Supervisors Holds Regular Meeting Tuesday

The Jasper County Board of Supervisors will convene for its regular meeting on Tuesday, with several public hearings and administrative actions scheduled.

During the session, supervisors will hold a public hearing to open sealed bids for a parcel of land located in the Country Club Acres area west of Newton. Additional public hearings are planned for a rezoning request that would change a parcel of land from agricultural to rural residential use, as well as for an Axon contact quote covering the next 10 years.

The board will also consider the appointments of Andrew Carpenter and Benjamin Anderson as Jasper County deputy sheriffs.

Other agenda items include reviewing and approving project detour agreements with the Iowa Department of Transportation for work on Iowa Highway 14 and Iowa Highway 224, approving material costs for phase two of the Highway F-48 project, and setting a public hearing date for the Fiscal Year 2027 County Five-Year Program.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Room 203 of the Jasper County Courthouse.
